In this version, you will use canned green beans and prepared fried onions, which makes it simpler, faster and easier than my traditional method.

- preheat oven to 400°F.
- in a 6 by 6 glass baking pan, empty your two cans of green beans.
- after evening the green beans, distribute the creme of mushroom on top.
- optional: mix the green beans and creme of mushrrom. you may also keep it in layers, but it may taste more uneven..
- sprinkle the french fried over the combination.
- cover the casserole with tinfoil.
- put the covered casserole into the iven for 30 minutes.
Absolutely Delicious Green Bean Casserole from Scratch. I don't usually like green bean casserole but this was very good--a perfect balance between the beans and sauce. It didn't get mushy at all. The lemon zest was a very subtle flavor. Add the beans, brown sugar and water.
